About the British Travel Health Association
The BTHA aims to promote a multi-disciplinary approach to travel health by bringing together the various disciplines involved in the health of travellers. Our aim is to provide a forum for discussion as well as to offer information and education and stimulate research on travel health issues. We welcome nurses, doctors, pharmacists and others involved in travel and travel medicine to join us. In doing so we hope we can work together to provide better patient care and support each other in our work.
The BTHA is managed by an Executive Committee and the day to day functioning is carried out by sub-committees. All members are eligible to be on a sub-committee and can help in the running of the BTHA. If you are interested in joining one of the sub-committees please contact us.
BTHA produces a journal and a newsletter which are sent out to all members. They are also available for download on the website. Examples of these publications can be found here.
We also have an annual conference which is always a stimulating event. The 2009 conference was in London and Professor Larry Goodyer gives this report.
| We are proud to have mountaineer Sir Christian Bonington, CBE and Colonel John Blashford-Snell OBE DSc (Hon) FRGS, of the Scientific Exploration Society, as our patrons. |
The BTHA is a Registered Charity (Number : 1080546 )
