Dr Reggie Cooke is a G P in N.Ireland. Reggie has since travelled in many countries, and for 6 years worked in sub-tropical Queensland.
He completed the Diploma Course on Travel Health and Medicine at Royal Free Medical School. He subsequently embarked on the UCL MSc Course, and gained the International Society’s ‘Certificate of Knowledge’ (CTH) in 2005. He helped organize, with the BTHA, the 1st N.Ireland Conference on Travel Medicine, and generally is keen to increase the interest, and education, in Travel Medicine among doctors and nurses in this part of the world. He is in the process of forming a Northern Ireland Travel Health Forum.
Reggie has a special interest in the long term traveler, including missionaries and aid workers, and is a member of the newly formed Interest Group of The International Society of Travel Medicine, focusing on the Psychological Health of Travelers. He is a founder Member of the Faculty of Travel Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
He is also a member of the Irish Society of Travel Medicine, and is encouraging stronger links between the Irish STM and the BTHA.
